I cant believe anyone would recommend to a newer person to Jeeping to put a locker into a Dana 35.   Dont do it , its wasting your money  and will only teach you one thing , How to change out an axle shaft on the trail with minimum tools. That is of course you have spare shafts. I totally agree having traction devices off road is a plus.  The Detroit "TrueTrac"  is a great limited slip that probably wont ever break you axles.  Run 2 of them , and youd see the difference and the biggest plus , as a DD you wont know they are in there. With limited cash , Id go for 2 truetracs and no more than 3" of lift . 4" isnt bad in a TJ on road . When you go to bigger tires , be careful as the gear ratio you have wont like it.  Your engine feels like its under powered , your mileage will suffer . The only fix is to have the ratio change out to match the tire size you went with. 32s/33s you will feel the difference but it shouldnt be a complete pig.  Every time we change something , we have to change something else. Just sayin .  FjR68
