I was changing the oil in the BYS and noticed that the oil pan and auto tranny pan were pretty dented up.(Must have been the PO-;)) so I went out and kicked the iron pile to see what would rise to the top.  I found the side of a machine that Wayne had given me that was about 1/8 thick and about the right size.  For the front mount I made a cradle out of angle iron that goes up and attaches to the motor mounts where they're welded to the frame.  For the rear I welded some tabs on the existing cross member.  I also welded angle iron along the side of the skid plate, that really seemed to stiffen it up.  I wish  I had something a little thicker to use for the plate but after getting it mounted I think I'll be fine.  Even if it dents up under impact it should keep a rock from slashing through the oil pan or tranny pan.

Nice, but you know, you probably could have bought one for only 100 times what that cost you.

The only purchased parts were grade 8 bolts.  It's nice to have woods that are full of parts and a big iron pile.
