It really came down to technique. Making "pools" and doing C or circles. I didn't know any of this. Practice is paying off. No where amature status still a noob but I'm getting better.

ill assume your running flux core, if your wanna be cheap, use co2 for shielding gas

Switching from flux core wire to MIG and using a shielding gas helps.  Practice and getting the wire speed/amperage dialed in to the thickness of the metal you are welding is important...
