New Guy here...don't even have my jeep yet!
« on: February 12, 2016, 12:23:48 PM »
So, after a decade or so of AWD wagon-driving family car exile, looks like I'm getting back into a Jeep.  Last one was a 1990(or so?) Cherokee back in 92-93.    Test drove a Wrangler Unimited Rubi Hard Rock last night.  The deal with the Mrs. is that I won't "mess with it" if I buy this trim level....so no lifts, etc.  I will be putting a winch on it, because safety, right?  Looks like we'll be placing an order shortly.  4-6 weeks to wait!!

Anyway, look forward to meeting you all and finding out about the safe and legal options for some off road fun in the general area. I am in the Hartford area, but will drive for fun!!

Welcome....

LOL, I'm familiar.  I was going to get the sport and just do what I wanted.  My wife saw the Rubi and asked what it COULDN'T do that the one I was going to build could.  Of what I'm interested in...nothing, really...so here we go.  I made the promise and hopefully will not be breaking it.

But should you put the divorce first, it's much easier to acquire the latter.

Oh man, you guys are trouble!  Already done the divorce route once...I don't intend to do it again.
My wife came with me to look at the jeep on Saturday and she loves it.  Has already asked to borrow it!  Oh boy!

The Jeep is ordered!  Now to patiently wait.  Yeah right...I don't know how I'm gonna make it.  They say it can be as much as 8 weeks.

Now...I've gotta join up with some folks who will walk me through how to use the Jeep without breaking it or me or the land (or the law).  Last time I spent any real time behind the wheel of a Jeep my off-road experience was a bit of "try this...hopefully don't die or break anything...."
