Just heard from dealer.  VIN has been created.  He estimates 4-6 weeks.  Man...I'm really excited!

The Jeep is ordered!  Now to patiently wait.  Yeah right...I don't know how I'm gonna make it.  They say it can be as much as 8 weeks.

Now...I've gotta join up with some folks who will walk me through how to use the Jeep without breaking it or me or the land (or the law).  Last time I spent any real time behind the wheel of a Jeep my off-road experience was a bit of "try this...hopefully don't die or break anything...."
You won't be breaking the law or the land with NE Jeep, two out of three is abut all your going to get.
You do realize once she "borrows" it you will never get her Jeep dirty... lmao...
>>>>>This signature line for rent<<<<<<

I got 2 Jeeps and a pick up truck and an old car, and some broken motorcycles and a gas powered blender.

Thanks everybody.  I found out the "expected" date for shipment FROM the factory is March 14, so still have a little time to wait.  That said...I need some advice.  Looking for someone to install a winch for me when she gets here.   Am trying to stay as local to the Hartford area as possible, while still being someone trusted.  Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, and happily repaid with a beer after the first time I head out on the trails with you all.

Thanks again.

Pete,

Your inbox is full.  Tried to reach out.  Short version is as above.  Jeep coming.  Want a winch.  Don't want to spend a fortune, buy junk, or kill myself or others by trying the install myself.

X2 on SuperWinch!  If you want to purchase one from a dealer in CT - here's the only CT dealer:

SILVERBACK DISTRIBUTION
351 BOSTON POST ROAD
NORTH WINDHAM, CT 6256, United States
Ph: (888) 576-3131

I bought one from them - better price than anyone on-line...  If you decide to go that route - I can pick one up there since it's local to me and drop it off at Pete's shop

BTW - Pete at Automotive Restyling does great work!

Hey, thanks a ton everybody.  Spoke to Gary at Silverback this morning about the Superwinch he'd recommend for me.  Now I just gotta touch base with Pete (and get the darned Jeep!!).  Then, I'll gladly take you up on that very friendly offer JeepinMaxx.

It's here!  They are prepping it now, in detailing or whatever.  I'll be picking her up after work.  I'm not at all excitedly giggling like my 4 year old meeting puppies.  Nothing at all like that.  A good hearty, manly "that'll do nicely" is it.

Hasn't happened yet.  Told me a little while ago that it's going to be a few hours, then he has a delivery coming in, so I might not be able to come in until 7pm.  7!!  Argh!!  How can I wait another 3 hours?

You have to copy/paste the IMG link from photobucket for it to work correctly.
