I finished up my skid plate retrofit and install. It started it's life as a new Tomken TJ engine skid, then Fister reinforced it top and bottom.

Prepping the frame to weld up the long arm kit frame brackets and frame sections. Gonna box in all four corners to be safe. hopefully gonna have it ready to send out to strip and prime next month. Don't know if I wanna have it painted or just take cans of rustoleum to it.... Decisions

I’ve had one galvanized before if you want to really kick the rust... makes it hard to weld anything to after the fact though. We did it in a buddy’s YJ after we prepped it for a SBC.

Yeah I thought about that route too. I'm still gonna need to cut and weld the out board shock kit though when I get it all seapped over

Got my boostworks transfer case shift linkage in. Not sure why it wasn’t this way from the factory, so much simpler than the setup they came with. And it shifts super smooth now.

I believe we used CT Galvanizing. They did my buddy's frame a year or two ago, and a family friend has had a couple done there. They just skip the last step where they heat it way up to avoid warping. I wanna say it was like $300.

yeah it looks like CT galvanizing is the only place in Connecticut. I remember steve talking about it, I'll be seeing him tonight so I'll ask him.

I talked to John over there when we did work on his air compressor.  He's done a bunch of frames over the years.  They do all the guard rails for the CT highway system...
