Does this mean I will get my $5 back because I registered mine?? LOL...

The decision comes days after a US Appeals Court decided that the Federal Aviation Administration no longer has the authority to make people register their consumer drones with the agency. Announced in 2015 and rolled out in 2016, that FAA rule was put in place to author some sort of control over the boom in consumer drones. (Nearly 1 million people have registered for non-commercial flying since then. Pilots flying for commercial purposes still need to obtain a remote pilot certificate from the FAA.)
The Appeals Court decision found the rule to be in violation of the 2012 FAA Modernization and Reform Act, which explicitly states that the agency “may not promulgate any rule or regulation regarding a model aircraft.” The FAA is reportedly considering appealing the decision

I paid my $5 too!  And since I'm less than 5 miles from an airport - supposedly I have to contact the tower and ask for permission every time I want to fly in my backyard!

So am I...2 miles from Bradley. I only go up to the tops of the surrounding trees. No higher...don't need a ANG Blackhawk crew just down the street from me to take it out with a Hellfire. :rotflmao:

I have a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, have had it for about a year now and love it! It's easy to fly and takes great pictures and videos but doesn't have anticollision like the Phantom 4 does on its landing gear.  But it does have a return to home features for when the battery gets too low or if it loses the connection with the controller. As well as other features like a follow me mode or a circling feature, or waypoints feature.  Bought it a year ago for $720 and still around that price today.  Can't go wrong with DJI!

With all these drones in the club did anyone take aerial footage of the Cabela's meet?

As for flying over water,   this is a must.
