Greetings From Manchester
« on: March 14, 2017, 12:28:31 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Recently purchased my first Jeep.  It's a 2005 LJ.  I'd like to start taking part in some organized events and make some local connections when it comes to guidance with mechanical work. I'm a novice when it comes to off road driving but I've been interested in learning more for a long time.  Finally got to the point of doing it. The Jeep is stock aside from the tire change I did as soon as getting it to replace the original aged Goodyears and go up to 31."

This year I'm planning to do mostly time and reliability related changes and upgrades.  I've got a replacement top waiting for warmer weather to put on and I've been looking into the OPDA replacement as well as a few other things lined up.  As time and experience go on I'll start looking at other changes especially as I get more experience with it on the trail and see what I could benefit from.

I'll get to one of the M&Gs coming up this Spring.

Thanks!

I'll be looking to touch base with someone with personal experience doing the OPDA replacement.  I'm looking at the Crown Automotive replacement.  From what I've read it seems like reasonable insurance to do to avoid a possible problem in the future even though my VIN isn't on the list.  I know it hasn't been addressed yet in mine.  I'll ask around when I meet people at a M&G but if anyone wants to share experience before that I'm all ears.  Seems like there is a lot of information floating around about the topic.
