Another jeep goes under the knife
« on: March 29, 2017, 08:02:31 AM »
After the Summit run on Sunday Rob dropped off his jeep with a pile of steel tube. What could that be ???

After a few hours the jeep was looking a little empty inside..

Monday was spent prepping tubes for welding, and eyeballing how everything was supposed to fit. It was observed that the passenger side did not line up as well as the drivers side. After looking over the entire jeep; it was realized that the body mounts had broken through the torque tubes, causing the body to settle.

Starting with the passenger side, the main hoop was put into place excluding the B pillar. The same was done on the drivers side. Once the front and rear were tacked into place, all the other tubes could be fitted.

By quitting time Wednesday, all the tubes were in except for the harness bar and the B pillars ( waiting on parts.

Nice! I'm thinking it went together pretty easily as he only has had it a few days. My poison spider kit went together easily.

Tom does awesome work!!

If it wasn't for PS forgetting to package a couple of parts,  he'd probably have it completed already.

Looks like it goes together much easier than my A-Z cage, which every tube had to be trimmed.

I like that design, down the road, when I'm board I was going to bend up a similar cage for the White Jeep

Another night in the garage, More progress has been made !

Rob stopped over last night, We took measurements for where the harness bar needed to be placed. With the help of Steve B, we pulled the cage out. The cage is now fully welded awaiting paint.
