Just curious.....seemed like a couple rigs on that last ride had a fast more aggressive throttle response......must have just been a faster foot ...

When I swapped a 4.0L into my old YJ I added a Borla header (needed a manifold), CAI (needed an air box), larger injectors, and Mopar Performance computer (donor computer didn't work.  It made a difference between 1800-2500 RPM.  But if I didn't need to replace the parts anyway - I would have left it stock...

I have K&N air filter simply because I do that with every vehicle. Stayed away from a CAI because I was concerned it would make it easier for water to get sucked in. Did a magnaflow loop delete Y pipe and muffler to clear my lift. Hard to say if there was any improvement seeing I never drove it stock hight with new exhaust. Would have probably done a TrailDash tuner instead of a Flashcal if the computer wasn't locked. To me it's not worth the extra $500 to have it jail broken.

If your looking for quick and easy 4.0 horsepower , look up "Clifford Performance"  He has what you need. I have an old skool 4.2 with a lot of mods . The final note is 270 hp and 360 lbs/ft of torque ! Thats at 3300 rpms. and a 4x1 t-case with 4.56s and 35s , so Im in the meat always.  I went the whole in route and wouldnt look back . Its not necessary , but by using his cam/lifter combo alone it will feel like a different engine , its only more after that if the wife dont care. Other than the machine work , I did everything thing else and would have to say its around 2k , but I did go the whole route .  His motto is 6=8      FjR68
