How was Harris Mountain?

This is an AWESOME place.  40 + showed up to wheel.    our club should look in to having an event there.
Elizabeth Saunders,  the home owner, was there with her two sons.  She was very appreciative of the 4 wheel Community for all the donations.
Her sons (in their 20's) have spent a lot of time on the trails.   Trails are very well made. and there is some thing for everyone.
Thanks you to:

Hey what are you guys running for tie rods n drag links...stock or not?
On Broken I sleeved the tie-rod with a Home Depot pipe. It acted like a roller also. Never had a problem after that.  :rotflmao:

Before you "Sleeve" you Tie Rod, be sure you have the clearance and you are not going to interfere with the Diff Cover.  If your tie rod hits the diff cover you are adding stress to your TRE and the only way to fix this is to adjust the stops which decreases your turning radius.

Just sayin.

He's right, I did have to noch out a spot for the Track-bar bolt so when I turn all the way to the right, so it wouldn't hit.

Teraflex makes good stuff and they won't have the clearance issues that come with the Rock Krawler. But I like how the RK is made from T651 aluminum so it will flex a little when hit.

Doug - I think that's what is in my newer TJ - $500 for the drag link & tie rod !  Does the tie rod ends use the stock D30 taper?

yes, stock taper. I also have a drivers side flip which raises the components up some.

It's not cheap but I also haven't broken on the trail and there is a lot less flex than the stock set-up.

I suck at ALL forms of math, but see for yourself.  I always set the steering wheel first, then adjust toe, then recheck the wheel, any other adjustments to the draglink you will affect the toe so you have to readjust.

Check your toe first, then adjust the drag link so your wheel is where you want it.  The Toe will change.

This what happened to Bone's TJ this past weekend.
Before we reconnected the steering (after lift) we centered the steering wheel.

After correcting 2" worth of toe-in.   The steering will was at 3.
