best wings
« on: May 15, 2017, 11:45:30 AM »
So we had sliders wings last night for mothers day. I know right. that's what my wife and her mother wanted.

Anyway people say sliders are the best but we kept commenting on how BWW are better. thoughts?

I've never been inside a Buffalo Wild Wings - they have a sign on the door that say's I'm not allowed inside...  I prefer to support non chain restaurants when I can.  I keep on comparing wings to my favorites from the Bidwell Tavern in Coventry

I agree, Bidwell Tavern has some great wings, also Hot Rods Cafe in New London has some awesom wings.

I love Buffalo Wilds selection of sauces (esp their mango habanero ) but their actual wings suck

Kinda depends on what Im in the mood for but Wooster St Pizza in Manchester makes a great peanut-butter n bacon flavored wings.

IMO, Buffalo Wild Wings stuff is overcooked and has weird flavors.

JT Tims is good, but I like sliders a lot better.

I was going to say exactly the same thing about both places  lol

BWW can pound sand. I'm not a big fan of most chains. Looks like I have a few places to check out

As I said I do enjoy the sauce selection at BWW but their wings are undersize and just crappy. Also the past few times we have ordered from the Manchester store they have royally fawk up the order including the one for the super bowl. Unfortunately I had placed the order and my father picked up without checking. We called that night to complain and were told they were to busy but to stop in the next day. The next day my father stopped in and the dick wad manager treated him as though we were trying to BS him and pill a scam. We got credited back but nothing on top to apologize for fawk up a huge order for our super bowl party. Oh and Im not talking a small mix up. We ordered just under $100 in several flav wings and received some other persons order of the worst possible flavors they offer in boneless wings.

To keep this tasty wing's thread on topic and from going into a full blown CCDL / 2A topic on the public side I started one on the members side and we can continue the BWW anti gun discussion here

Big thing is I like to keep my money local. Also atmosphere at a lot of those places are too gimmicky and the food is quite often subpar.

JTims or oddly enough the Bow and Arrow Sports Bar at Mohican Sun. I was pleasantly surprised when their wings were really good, only $0.50 each, and there were $2.00 domestic drafts. $16 for two people, a bunch of wings and some beer

jtims are awesome, even better the next day cold.  BWW, ehh.  Hit or miss it seems.  I do like sliders wings sauce, the wings themselves are tiny.  Wings Over is always spot on, good wings and they are huge.

Al's Cookout in Brookfield has .35 wings every Monday. These things are HUGE! It's far for most of y'all but definitely worth the trip.

Bidwells is tough for a meet because it's a small place and always packed.  Lakeview is only a mile from Bidwell and has a huge out door patio right on Conventry lake!
