Picked this up today, 04 Rubicon 5spd, needs the rare and expensive NP241OR, unfortunately its literally grenaded  in pieces!  Anyone just happen to have one laying around??

I have a 231 - I wonder if the 241OR parts would swap in...

Found a reman. on CarParts.com, less than $1400, shipping both ways, including $400 core charge, (like to see the look on the guy's face when he inspects this core) comes with a 3yr warranty. I called to make sure that this was indeed a 241, they assured me it was! I quickly ordered it, now they are not available on the site.

The flailing driveshaft took out the fuel lines and the rear brake line, hopefully the driveshaft is still good.

Did you make sure it still had the stock D44 front n rear axles as well. I have heard many stories on other forums of ppl just swapping out the axles from rubis and still selling them as stock rubis after

Yep, 44s with the E locker wiring coming out of them.
When did they change to e locker? Thought they were all air?

How's the reliability of this system, is it as problematic as ARBs?

Hank the front locker is actually stronger then the rear and most people do not have issues with them unless they do some crazy stuff. The rear locker however is more like a limited slip and have a higher tendency of breaking.

My stock rubicon rear eventually stopped working which is what led me to ARBs.
2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 35s, 5in rear stretch, Poison Spyder hiline defender front fenders and rear armor, Rokmen Sliders, custom hiline hood, Synergy front half and custom rear half roll cage, Mastercraft seats, 4pt harness, TJ rubi 44 axles, ARBs, 488 gears, chromo shafts, truss front and rear, front axle is sleeved, tie rod flip, PSC hydro assist steering box and ram, Vanco big brake kit, Raceline beadlocks and other little things.

I have a TJ drive shaft from an 06 with a 231 slip yolk . You can have it if you can use it.    FjR68

As I figured that CarParts deal was too good to be true, got a call from them saying the case was out of stock! They already refunded my money. Try again, just ordered a rebuilt from these guys, price went up $1750 including the core that I won't be getting back. It's being shipped up from the land of Bruce and Mary.

I want to keep it a stock Rubicon, hopefully just bolt in the new case, new fuel and brake line and go. Atlas is at least 6 weeks out and runs over 3k, believe me I know! These 241OR cases are pricey but like the Atlas they hold there value (if they are not blown apart). I was getting quotes of $2600 used from the wrecking yard.
