It's funny the perfect timing of this Deleter thread.  I was just using my Deleter over the weekend and started to leave remnants after deletions.  I really hate it when I'm trying to delete something and there are turds left afterwards.  I took the back off and checked the the batteries and they seemed fine.  I actually dug out the old box it came in to see if there was an A/C adapter and there was.  I took the batteries back out and plugged it directly into the wall and gave it another shot. It seemed to work better but it still wasn't perfect.  I did notice however that there was a new menu on the screen when the unit was plugged directly into the wall.  So, I touched the self-test button and a notice came up that said "Are you sure you want to run the self-test?"  Of course I am, that why I pushed the damn button.  As soon as I tapped the screen on the "yes"  there was a quick PUFF and the damn thing was gone.  No turds around or anything, so I guess the self test fixed it.  That being said, I too and looking for a new deleter.
