Yeah or Nay?
« on: June 18, 2017, 11:29:54 AM »
Is this the type of thing I should be looking for?  Is it going to be too heavy for my front end?

So many things to learn...............

It will be heavier that what you have, but typical of what you will find for a bumper with a winch. Depending on what springs you have you will most likely see,you front end drop a bit. I have the rock krawler 2.5 springs, and they took into account of the weight of a winch with there springs, so my front end is actually slightly higher than my rear because I still have stock bumper and no winch yet. I have seen this one posted for a while, it seems to get reposted every few weeks so it looks like a newer post. Not sure what the deal is.

Its a Smittybuilt bumper with used Qtec winch. I personally dont like the idea of buying a used winch and there are much nicer bumpers out there.

Between the bumper and winch your front may sag a bit but once you add on the rear bumper and oversize tire carrier it should lvl out a bit....lol

The jeep may sag, but fuel consumption will rise...doh.

If you do buy it I'd suggest replace the rope. Preferably, but not necessary, with synthetic. I wouldn't trust that one was properly maintained.

ExtermeTerrain usually has free shipping, even for oversized, heavy items. My Barricade sliders came with free shipping. They have some pretty nice winch/bumper combos with free shipping.

I think its a great way for a new person to get started. The Q-9 only came out 3 years ago so how bad could it be. ( the same one I use) The bumper looks like it hasnt been hit. Its closer to you? No shipping ! It fits.  Make him an offer youd like to pay. He can only say one of two things.    FjR68
