So with the 14 bolt wrapped up it was time to tackle the Dana 60 front. The tear down took longer than anticipated. Everything that could be rusted in place was. It took Henry and I about an hour to remove the high steer arm.

After getting the housing torn dow it was time to set up the gears, and new Detroit.

A little update,

Monday Henry and I pulled the body off the scrambler and assessed the frame. there are a couple patches here and there but overall in good condition.

Last Night I picked up the frame, all the tubing, some shiny green parts and the tires. Henry already marked out where the axle need to go. after unloading the frame, it was setup at ride height and the axles slid into there final home.

This weekends plan is to work on the rear link numbers ( most time consuming part) and start cutting tube

XJ Wheelbase is almost perfect at 101.4", the KJ get's a little bit over at 104.2"  So the CJ8 should be just right

Lookin good Tom! How are you attaching the base of the shock hoop to the frame? Just notch it and weld to a 2" or so piece of tube welded perpendicular to the frame?

This weekend was very productive, becca was away visiting her father. I spent as much time as I could in the garage.
- valve cover gaskets on my dads camper van
- crank position sensor on the jeep
-oil change on the ranger
-rebuilt the steering on my truck
- re wired the 3 phase for the lathe
-cleaned the garage / reorganized
- made a mess working on henrys jeep

Friday night was a late night, and finalized all the numbers. Saturday morning I began making the links up and tacking on the mounts for the lowers. because I dont have the motor to transfer case yet the front links are in space.

The upper links then fell into place. Lastly it was time to bend up the ORI hoops

so far so good, this weeks project is the front

Im not entirely sure yet. I kind of want to run the perpendicular tube through the frame. I dont trust 2 welds to hold up one corner of the frame
