Interesting.   I've never opened an 8.25

I've been inside a few 8.25s but I've been inside of a lot more 2.25s.  :rotflmao:

Knocked out one mid stiffener after lunch today. Needed a little modification before it could be installed. Thanks to Doug for the use of his plasma. Made it a breeze. Now to prep the unibody on the other side, modify that stiffener, and weld that one in.

Second stiffener is on. Still amazed how nice this Jeep is under all the undercoat. No pictures of the finished stiffeners but I'll start tearing the front apart tomorrow. Took the week off of work to get this thing finished.

Also took a little time and Emily helped me do my headliner. I think it's gonna be pretty a sweet.

Brave using a patterned fabric like that, looks like it came out good! I need to do mine too, it just started sagging in both front corners within the last few months.

Thanks for the compliments on the headliner. I finished it up today. Had to wrap the edges and open up all the openings.

Currently in storage in my red Jeep. I'll install it in the silver Jeep when the other interior work is done.

Finished up some stuff underneath the silver Jeep this morning. Mostly just tidied up a few things from yesterday. I then moved onto front axle stuff. I cut the stock sprig buckets off the HP30. They were pretty rusted. I have another set to weld on. Going to raise them slightly and center them on the axle tube. I adjusted the position of the truss so I could make enough room for the coil springs to not hit the upper C.

I welded the rib into the center of the truss while it's easy to get to. I did a couple welds and then let the whole thing cool off. Everything is still dead straight so I'll follow the same procedure tomorrow when I weld the truss to the axle.

Finally I finished welding up my almost alloy kit on the driver side axle shaft. Still have to do the passenger side. My other I joint is buried under the back seat of the red Jeep which is currently being used as storage.....

Mocking up the final piece of the stiffener puzzle today! Also got my truss welded and the axle is ready for the new spring towers.

Also pretty sure I never need to remove another set of lower control arm mounts as long as I live. Lots of spot welds and overlapping sheet metal to make them strong enough to hold the vehicle. What a nightmare.

And there's the disadvantage of installing the stiffeners I guess (or of being a perfectionist). When I've cut off LCA mounts it's been Sawzall-BFH-Spray Paint-Done.

Looks awesome!

I could have modified the stiffeners so that I didn't have to get rid of the lower control arm mount, but in the long run I'll be happy I did it this way. They tell you where to cut the stiffeners if you plan to use them with short arms. I just wanted to benefit of having them wrap around the frame.

One side done, onto the next. Looks like I'll run out of gas before I finish this side but I should have enough to get to fitted and held in place at least, I'll go get another tank of gas in the morning, maybe see if they can upgrade me. This is the second tank in 3 weeks.

Got the other control arm mount cut off last night. Still have to grind it smooth. Had to remove all the fuel and brake lines in order to cut the control arm off without starting a fire. About 50% of the underside of the Jeep is prepped for paint. Swapped my front axle shaft u joint so I can weld on my almost alloy kit. Both shafts now have brand new greasable u joints. Plan is finish my driver side front stiffener today, then prep the rest of the body for paint. If I can get two coats of chassis paint on the whole underside by Friday night, then the engine goes in Saturday morning. The. Back to the front suspension.

Other lower control arm bracket is gone! Never need to do that ever again. Time for breakfast.

You can also see some of what was cleaned up for paint last night. Gotta be decreased and the rest of the underside has to be scuffed up with the surface rust removed.
