Anti rattle clips
« on: August 21, 2017, 10:21:38 AM »
Got a chance this morning to try to chase down some squeaking that I thought might be brake related. Doing research on parts the other night I came across listings for anti rattle clips. This morning when inspecting brakes I saw no sign of any on the front. Rear rotors have what looks like a spring assembly on the pads. Any thoughts on the front clips?  Do they become more important as the pads wear down?  First 2 pics are front second 2 are rear. '05 LJ.

The last time I bought pads for the front they came with slide clips but I didn't install them.

There is a product called "EMP"  Its a red looking silicone stuff you put on the backing plates of the pads on install.  It has been said its an anti squeal compound and it works really well .  You might not need the clips after using this product.   Everyone has this on the shelf . It even comes in a sealed envelope with some brake pads.   FjR68

Think the red stuff did it. I forgot it existed. Only got to the fronts last weekend, still have another set of discs in the back, but  almost all the squeaking at low speeds is gone.
