Door Handle Workings
« on: September 06, 2017, 07:23:01 PM »
How is the door handle on the steel doors held in place? I started having a problem opening the driver's side about two months ago. Now it appears the handle is coming loose.

Mark - full steel TJ doors?  I had problems with mine too - I think there are some bushings that wear to make them loose.  I bought brand new door handle assemblies for the driver side and passenger side last year, but my hands are too big to get in between the door panels!  So I gave up (I may cut an access hole this fall)  So I just sprayed a bunch of Kroil and made it through last winter

If I remember correctly if you can get your hands back there, I believe there are a few "shins" that wedge the handle in place and keep it there. If you can manage to pry them out after getting the rest of the door apart then you should be able to swap em
