Axle upgrade

A quick question
If I upgrade the front axle for better clearance..do I have to do the back as well?
2 door jk with RK lift

your gear ratio has to be the same in both axles if thats what your eluding to.
2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 35s, 5in rear stretch, Poison Spyder hiline defender front fenders and rear armor, Rokmen Sliders, custom hiline hood, Synergy front half and custom rear half roll cage, Mastercraft seats, 4pt harness, TJ rubi 44 axles, ARBs, 488 gears, chromo shafts, truss front and rear, front axle is sleeved, tie rod flip, PSC hydro assist steering box and ram, Vanco big brake kit, Raceline beadlocks and other little things.

Are you eluding to a high clearance housing like dynatrac? If so, like Angrytj said, it's just a matter of matching your gear ratios.

Sorry I meant sometimes the drive shaft ft oem rubs a little due to the lift....RK said usually people just change out the oem fat shaft with a Adams or Tom Woods's narrow one... I haven't torn the boot yet but prob will at some point ..
Maybe try a exhaust spacer to push it back a little would help with clearance also

That makes much more sense, after installing exhaust spacers on Danielle jk, im not a fan...

I would suggest upgrading the front shaft over exhaust spacers

and to answer your question, it's not necessary to upgrade the rear driveshaft if you are not having any issues with it.
