Front D30 Diff Cover Choices
« on: October 26, 2017, 09:12:48 PM »
My TJ came with a CRANE front diff cover like this one (minus the gouges...)

When cleaning up my office I found a SOLID brand D30 cover I bought for my old YJ several years ago...

Any advantage to switching to the SOLID brand one?  The CRANE cover doesn't have the cast ribs - maybe the previous owner went with that one to clear the thicker Currie Steering set up?

Just deciding if I should keep the old CRANE cover and sell the SOLID cover (BTW - the CRANE cover looks like it has the fill hole in the correct location for a front diff)

That Crane is similar to the Riddler i have. I switched to the Crane Riddler because it was low profile and cleared my 1-ton steering.

That's the way I was thinking...  I think I had a Crane or Riddler on the D44 rear Diff on my old YJ (it was painted green like that!)

I think I'll stick with the current set up then and sell the SOLID

Here's a fun Diff cover test I saw a decade ago

Does a D30 Diff cover for a YJ/TJ fit a JK D30?
