I have a Samsung 2.1
Its just a sound bar with a single subwoofer. It was about $140 dollars at the time and sounds great. I got it at best buy.

My dad has a LG 2.1 that I got him last Christmas. Pretty much the same thing, but by LG. Sound very similar, I believe I paid $160 for it.

I like the looks of the LG better but the Samsung controls seem more user friendly.

I used to be a big home theater component system surround sound guy.  A couple years ago when my amplifier died, I switched to a sound bar system

I'm really happy with my Vizio 42" 5.1 sound bar system with wireless amplified subwoofer.  The surround speakers are a bonus, but not necessary if you aren't into home theater...  The subwoofer is pretty powerful.  It's blue tooth, so you can stream music from your phone or any blue tooth device.

Plus it's only $150 at Best Buy (I think I got mine from BJ's back then)

Thanks Frank/Justin.  Exactly what im looking for, just figured a decent one would cost me quite a bit more

Frank, any issues with the wireless?  my fear is it won't connect or there will be an issue every time I turn on the TV.

No problem with the wireless on the subwoofer - I haven't had to re-connect it wireless in the two years since I hooked it up! I brought the discussion to Holly - She complains the subwoofer shakes the couch and the windows
