While I was out last night my brother texted me saying he was gonna be around tonight to weld up the rest of the frame. Was out in the garage till a little after midnight wire wheeling and sandblasting to get it ready. Definitely feeling the lack of sleep today and I think there's still blast material in my eyes but progress! At some point I really gotta learn how to weld

Welding just takes practice and I'm still no good at it.

Instead of your brother doing it, have him show you. When it comes out less than perfect, blame him for being a bad teacher...

Moving slow today. Doing club paperwork, getting all the receipts and whatnot in order from the truck build, crap like that.

I'm going to test the Lifetime Service Agreement for the Rigid drill and batteries I bought years ago. The guy at Home Depot said they will fix repair and even replace batteries. So I'll be taking a ride up to South Windsor  to the service facility.

He doesn't have much time these days with his newborn. I used to bug him about it a lot but the girlfriend always came first.

Same here, I have plenty of scrap to practice with.

In fact, go get that welder that Todd posted. It's a smok'n deal. I have the same one...

If you both get loaded enough, there's plenty of room for you to crash.

It's Friday for me, took my last TOP day tomorrow.  They won't let us carry over any days.  Just got in from the road and getting expense reports and petty cash all done for the end of 2017.

Anyone heard if the Federal mileage rate is changing for 2018?

One of my buddies at work with a newer 7.3 is having somewhat of the same problem but seems further back in the system. After sitting overnight it will run for a few seconds like the rails have fuel then die. He then needs to crank till it bleeds out then it'll be fine. He's tried turning the key and letting it prime before starting but that doesn't help.

Outside all day yesterday and today... working on things that require gloves to be off.  Will be doing the same tomorrow.... sucks.
I have no idea what I'm doing... but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Feel your pain. Gloves came off once and that was enough for me. Every time I pulled my mask down to talk on radio my beard instantly froze
