JL superbowl commerical
« on: February 05, 2018, 07:47:37 AM »
Cool commercial but, isn't driving across a river and up a waterfall in all sorts of volitions of the Tread Lightly principles?

Not to mention the environmentalists jumping all over it. But finally a real commercial!

I thought the same thing. They covered themselves with a quick flash of "Closed man-made lake and waterfall. Always follow applicable law." It's the same way they have car commercials  showing speed and dangerous stuff.

It'll no doubt get the tree huggers in arms.

The best was the Jurassic Park one...

I thought the Jeep bombing up the waterfall was pretty cool. Nice to see it doing actual Jeep things. Btw, there's 5 JL's at my local dealership so I stopped by to check them out in person. Interior looks very nice compared to the JK's, but those vents in the fenders look way cooler in the pictures.....

Read the fine print in the commercial.   It says "closed course,  man made pond..."

That's sort of the same thing as insulting someone, and then saying you're kidding.

what is?

Advertising illegal behavior and using it to sell your product, then saying don't do that because this is on a closed course.

Not to mention driving it through a lake would probably void the warranty

I'll admit, sometimes I'll drive by the part of the yantic river that's near my house when it's low and imagine how fun it would be to drive through but that's definitely one of those "you can think about it just don't do it" situations lol

There’s a perition going around raising Hell with Chrysler to not promote wheeling in wetlands.

One of my Scouting friends that kayaks is all over it making a big deal out of it.
