I POSTED A MESSAGE ABOUT BUILDING A 4CYL AND WAS ABOUT TO GET STARTED WHEN I BLEW IT UP. I AM GOING TO PUT A 6CYL AND 5MT OUT OF ANOTHER 93 YJ. OTHER THAN WIRE HARNESS AND FAN SHROUD AND EX MANIFOLD WHAT ELSE DO I NEED. WILL THE DRIVE SHAFTS BE THE SAME? CAN I USE THE SAME TRANSFER CASE AND DIFF? IT KILLS ME TO SEE IT DOWN, ANY HELP WILL BE GREAT. THANK YOU. :?:

you will need new engine mounts, exhaust shroud, motor, exhaust down pipe, computer, wiring harness

You will also need a new tranny (the ax-5 won't hold behind the 4.0 for long) which will probably mean a new tcase. as the input splines are different.

you will need a new crossmember, and driveshafts to accomadate these.

Actually, you will need to cut the mounts off the frame and re-weld them on in the correct position. Also, the AX5 will not bolt up behind a 4.0L, but seeing as how you're getting the tranny too, you're all set. You might as well get the t-case too as the input to yours is 21 spline and the t-case behind the AX15 is 23 spline.
The existing tranny/transfer case crossmember/skid plate will work fine.
Grab the driveshafts from the donor vehicle too.
It would be cheaper to locate another four cylinder, but if you're dead set on the 4.0L, the wiring harness and computer should be a direct plug in if from the same year. Use the donor vehicles frame mounts as a guide to re-weld yours.

Good luck.
