A Little More Traction Plan B

I have a Spartan in the front. Made my Jeep scary and unpredictable in 4wd in the snow. If you have to daily it in the winter I would stay away.

Stay scrounging facebook marketplace. Got my rear locker with gears off marketplace in Jersey on black friday. Well worth it.

Selectable is nice but $$$. Can you throw in a lunch box pretty easily, cheaply, quickly? Just for a year or so?

Normal driving I don’t notice the front locker at all. However if you drive On the street in the snow with 4wd, it’s not fun. The Jeep with push through the corners.

That being said the best upgrade I ever did to my Jeep was to get a cheap daily driver. I drive enough that having two vehicles is still way cheaper than driving the Jeep everywhere. Plus it allows me to take on bigger projects because I don’t need the Jeep on Monday morning. And now I don’t care as much about having Detroit in my dana 30.

I guess Im the only believer in the TRuTrac . Its probably the best LSD on the market . Easy install , easy maint = None .  You wont know it in there while turning . If you find yourself with a wheel in the air , the other one will still pull. It has the highest bias ratio of any LSD and its gear driven so it will never wear out.  Yes , thats what I used when I started . Ask any of the other re-sponders if its a gut feelin , something they read , something they saw in action.  #2 Baby !  FjR68

That’s the answer for now.  Both for Jeep parts and a beater.  I was planning to look for a beater through this summer figuring I’d use it most next winter.  I like the idea of dropping a lunchbox in the front and even if I seasonally removed it that sounds workable and easy on the budget.

I do like the LSD option, but the gear setup requirement adds another level that I don’t have experience with.
