Acadia Suggestions

So, I’m leaving Sunday to spend the week in Acadia National Park.  From there I’m headed straight to Fall Crawl, and I couldn’t be more excited. Last year was my first time going, and it was definitely a “I need to go on vacation before I quit my job”, so very little planning.

I’m hoping to remember my camera and selfie stick this year so pictures are hopefully not crappy selfies

This year I want to try to plan it out a little bit better. I am currently planning on hiking up Cadillac Mountain to watch the sunrise and doing beehive again.

I also did precipice, that one rock thing that balances on the side that you look like you can push over, and Jordan’s pond. I got ice cream in Bar Harbor, but that was about it.

What is your number one and two must-do in/around Acadia?

Pics from last year up there.

Arrive early, drive to the top, take a picture, then leave before all the morons show up. Grab a lobster roll on the ride out.

I love it up there. Unfortunately my experience has been heavy fog and no views. The beehive loop trail is on my to do list. Have fun!

Two hikes:

1. The Bubbles from the south trailhead is a nice, short, straight up rock scramble, with a great view a the end.  Plus you can try and push over Bubble Rock.
Park over by Jordon Pond House and start by hiking along the pond.  You can come down between North and South and head back to the parking lot.
2. It's not that hard,  but hike Bar Island with the bar is exposed.  Gives you a difference view of the town.

Other things:
Sunset Cruise on the Margaret Todd.  It's BYOB by the way.
Good Drinks:  Side Street Cafe
Good Food:  West Street Cafe.

We are going to be up there in Oct.  LG is running the MDI marathon again.
