Hey guys, I was in an accident last night. Front driverside bumper was destroyed. looks like the end of the frame might have been bent a little. I need to take a closer look. No air bags. Everyone was okay.

Progressive Insurance is offering to take care of scheduling the repairs and gave me some options of their "favored" shops (no I don't "have" to use them, but it will make getting everything coordinated and done so much easier...)

Has anyone ever heard of: North Haven Autobody?  http://www.northhavenautobody.com/

they are real close to me, so convienince is Key.

If you are down by the shoreline,  there is Giovanni Auto Body in Branford.
They do good work,  fixed my Jeep after my accident.

North Branford Auto Body does real good work too. they are very professional and down to earth.

NorthHaven A/B is one of my customers they buy lots of VW parts from us Ive never heard a bad thing about them from any of our service customers. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. And Yago..

Two cooworkers have had stuff done at N.H. Autobody and were pleased.

So those 3 good comments, in addition to the insurance company convienience, I'm going to give them a try.

I'll post again when done on how I leked them.

If you don't already have a bodyshop that you trust and deal with, or having one reccomended by your friends, going with the insurance company's reccomendations is your next best bet. If they didn't do a decent job, they probably wouldn't be doing business with them.
But, a thing to remember, is that they are doing business with each other for a reason. The shop/writer can skimp on some things to save the insurance company money in exchange for a steady flow of work. Ask questions, and stop in every day to check on the work. Don't break their balls, but let them know that you're concerned that the work gets done correctly.

If you do go outside of their network, "direction of pay" puts the ball into the bodyshop's court. That way they deal directly with the ins co and the adjuster without bothering you every step of the way.

Check out this thread, also a Progressive customer....   http://forum.northeastjeep.org/index.php?topic=5485.0
Jeff was initially quoted less than 2k in damages to get rid of him, and ended up needing as new frame and engine, along with the cosmetic stuff.

It's the end result of paying all those insurance premiums.
