Time to dump those 2piece shafts. I'm thinking of getting the Moser shafts, any comments there? And any other ideas on upgrading this axle.

I'm going through the same thing now. Thinking of doing a locker too.

I ran mine with 1 piece axles, untrussed for about 4 years on 33's and never had a problem. my drivetrain was a 360/t-18. Bigger than 33's i would think about trussing it, or heavy on the skinny pedal

From what I have heard from the guys in NE4W who still run the 20's, if you upgrade to the 1 piece axles they are comparable to a D44.
just make sure they are true forged 1 piece axles and NOT 2 piece axles that have been welded.

...I also read that rolled splines are stronger than cut splines. Rolled are put in before heat treating...cut, after.

I am setting it up for the mall, but EXTREME mall riding. I'm talkin' two wheels up on a 6 inch curb. Too risky to pull in front of with the new mini van in fear of a steel bumper goring the sliding door.
