Right now my setup is as follows:

2.5" OME HD
RE .75 coil spacers
Stock Ravine Wheels
1.25" Spidertrax Wheel Spacers
32x11.50 BFG AT's
AA SYE and Tom Woods Shaft

I'm considering going to 16" AR Baja wheels (polished aluminum) with 265/75R16 BFG AT's.  I would be getting the rims clearcoated if I do decide to get the Bajas:

The 265/75R16 equates to a 32x10.50.  This will help to keep my tires under my flares AND allow me to ditch the wheel spacers since I'll have the correct backspacing.  Just wondering if anyone has run this size tire and how you liked 'em  .

I run 238-85-16, same diameter but narrower and it works fine.  Though aluminum rims and offroading don't always mix well.  Get damaged too easy.

I know that my factory Ravine rims are all chewed up around the edges from contacting the rocks.  Is that the kind of damage you're refering to?  Others have told me that the aluminum rims are more prone to crack...

The chewed up edges are usually the damage you see.  Steel rims will usually resist that better (atleast good steel rims).  I finally bent the lip on my stockton rims.  The hit stopped my whole truck while I was wheeling.  It still hold air though.

Cracking?  Haven't heard that.

the nice thing about steelies, is if you bend one, you can just hammer it back out again....(in most cases)
an alloy wheel is either toast, or expensive to fix!!!!
i would worry about the wheels more than the tires. alloy's are lighter, but for wheelin, steelies are better

Stay with a 15x8 inch rim with 3.75 backspacing.  Tires are much cheaper if you stick with 15s. :grinyes:

You can get 16's cheap if you look a little.  Never paid more than $80 each for mine brand new.  (tire rack kumho's and pepboy's close outs.)

But 15's are cheaper generally.

I got a good set of steel's and mine have taken a lot of abuse,  They do not bend easily. :grinyes: :grinyes:

Stockton makes a hell of a rim.
