I have 4.75 on my TJ now and I want to add some Track width.I see Most Whees are 4" BS ,Not a Real gain .I want to stay with 8" rims ,so..I found Pro Comp makes Crawlers with 3.75,3.5,2.75,and 2.5 BS on 8"rims They where out of the 2.75s but have 2.5s in .The question is Do ya think 2.5 is To little or will it work fine?? It with give me a 4.5 gain in Width witch is just about the same as runnig 10"rims with 4"BS ,But id be Running 8" with 2.5.

I'd like to think to little wheel BS will cause premature wear on the front unit bearings and rear axle bearings.

As you push the wheels further out you're putting more load on those bearings....not good at all.

My opinion......3.75 max.

But thats just me

I don't like to be a sour apple, but if we are going to be worried about premature wear of the bearing, then the center of the tire needs to be over the bearing, and we need to stay with little tires so that we're not increasing the unsprung weight, which causes premature wear as well.

When considering going to bigger tires, yeah keep this in mind, as a fact that you will be replacing things more often. Don't let it be a limiting factor thoug, or you may as well stay stock.

Just my $.02

As for the original question. 2" of track width is a good gain, and you will eventually gain some more from the 33x12.5s you plan on putting on.

I personally think the Wranglers are plenty wide. Consider this for comparison. My early CJ-5s track width WMS to WMS is 48 inches, yours is 61"?? You've got plenty.

Go with the previous suggestions of 3.75
