I know a number of people that have run the cheap steel rims - you get what you pay for.
Most have moved on to something stronger, the lip on the rim was so flimsy that it would bend in/out with light contact

Clarification - this is the non beadlock rim - havn't heard anything about their newer beadlock rims yet.

I thought it was just the opposite...Elias sells the basset wheels as an upgrade to the AR-767's...they're about $20 more and I thought that translated to a stronger rim

I do know that the tech-31's or RockKrawlers that you get for under $40 from 4WPW or Quadratec are way less durable than the American Racing AR-767's that typically go for about $55

btw Elias also got those same rims for $125 too for those up north

Those are 18 bolt beadlocks, I would try to save the extra $200 for a set of 32 bolt Allied's myself

I also heard that Bassett makes durable wheels, so if true, this is a very good buy. 18 bolts are better than none.
I'll be running 8 bolt double beadlocks for next year.

We mounted a set of tires for the baja car using 3M 5200 around the beads. It works awesome.

I can pull the cores out completly, and whip donuts as fst as I can on pavement and it woun't break the bead. (this is also 12" wide tires or 12" wide rims  )
