1- Braided SS brake lines VS. Rubber.                                                                                                                                                                                   2 - Will the Braided lines give a different petal feel?

the ss lines will give a much better feel, harder pedal, better stopping .but make sure you get good lines  they can pull apart at the crimp :swear_mad: :swear_mad:

stainless line are much thinner, have less protection due to their thinness..I had the, 2 sets actually... one was rubbed on by something and the braided sheeth gave way and the hose burst.... second.. the end came off... way to expensive for  pieces of sh*t in my opnion..... go with rubber... easy to get, easy to carry spares and cheap...keep you rear shoes adjusted properly and you will have a much better pedal....

So - what stock rubber lines fit a 4" lifted YJ?  Anyone have a part number or vehicle you can tell the parts store?  Maybe a dodge truck soft line?

I just used  full sized Cheby brake lines on the front.

Dodge dakota lines work well in the YJ.  i think i randomly chose a 94 dakota.  front and rear are like 4 - 6" longer

The chevy trunk lines Karl is talking about don't work on the stock Yj calipers I believe.

ctgranite - it looks like if you want to save some cash - the Dakota lines could be the way to go.  I run the stainless lines on the YJ (didn't know I had a choice )

Looks like I'll pick up a spare Dakota set for trail spares for the YJ (or stock replacement for my Dakota)...

The whole story. 1 - stock YJ. good brakes. 2 - stock axles with a V8. good brakes. 3 - add wagoneer axles and SS brake lines. next to on brakes. 4 - Changed out the master cylinder to a 78 merc station wagon. larger piston. better not much. 5 - Change out booster and master out for a Navajo brake booster (duel 9") and master. no change. The guy at Navajo said ditch the SS lines and go with rubber. I'm spent. hahahaha. going to a shop today and see if I'm missing something.
