How do you disconnect the stock brakeline from the metal brakeline that leads to the master cylinder in the wheelwell? Its a pain in the ass is there any way to do it without destroying it? I havea 1990 XJ and i started it today so i would work on it and get it done, anyhow any ideas or reccomendations would be great thanks

Start spraying now, try taking it apart later.

Use a quality flarenut wrench to keep the hex from rounding off

Use a flare nut wrench, if ya got one. Make sure to keep the 90* bracket bolted into the wheelwell untill you get it loose.

And yeah, PB Blast the hell out of it.

Brake line is cheap, just replace the whole thing...or you could cut it back and splice something in.

so its not hard to splice some more brake line in? like are there connectors to accept brakeline in both ends of the connector ?

It's not hard, but you need to using a flaring kit to put new double flared ends on...

If you have never made your own brake lines before, I would not recommend trying without the direct supervision of someone who has. Not real hard to do, but it is exponentially easier to f*#@ it up.

i made out shitty, i never got theold one off so I gaveup andstarted a different project, i should set up a wrench day
