Cb/scanner mounting options?

I ordered a new cd player the other day and while I have my dash opened in the tj Id like to mount my scanner and cb. What are some good mounts on a 98 tj that would not be in the way? I saw a cb in a tj that was mounted on top of the dash in the middle where that multi use holder thing is I keep my cellphone on...anyone put one there? If so do you think I could double my scanner and cb piggy back and mount them there? That seems like a nice out of the way spot. Any suggestions......Bull.

Yup! It's a tuffy overhead console. There is one with one slot or two. The best part is it is lockable. I ended up putting my high-end receiver in one and my CB in the other slot, leaving the stock radio in the dash as a decoy. Steve was worried about banging his head on it, but I am 6'2" tall and never hit it except the first time I leaped into the Jeep with no doors off right after I installed it. Never since then

I think steve could make you a overhead thing.. He made one and it works awesome and is out of the way. Very easy install too.

I have my CB mounted on top of the dash in the little tray thing. Works great for me and is out of the way. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get to work.

RJ, thats what I was talking about to mount mine. Does it rattle or move at all? How is it secured? I want to put my scanner on top or cb, whatever way works better. Think its sturdy enouhg? Norwich is pretty close to me. To mount the CB, I used the supplied bracket and 3 screws drilled into the top tray. Let me know what your work schedule is like and I'll see if I can get out your way.

Yes, I have a tape deck...but it does control my CD changer. I got the combo for $120 a year ago from the PX in Alaska. Couldn't pass up the deal.
