Channel 4

Hi everybody
I was wondering if any of you knew what would cause interference on only one channel. I get a lot of ignition noise (I think it's ignition) on channel 4. 3 and 5 have nothing. Though needless to say every run last weekend I was on guess what channel. I must get rid of the damn noise! My radio sounds like a motor boat all day long. I couldn't even use squelch, the noise level was too high.

Need help before next run!!

no help, but my radio was acting very badly all weekend too, lots of noise...I assumed it was due to knocking the antenna mast off the base and screwing it back on without re-checking the SWR, but I had noise on all channels :?

I had problems with CH4 on Saturday. I had to shut it off a couple times -squelch didn't work. I thought someone on the trail was creating interference... It was like someone with a handheld was keeping the talk button down and creating static. - maybe a bad ground? :shock:

Maybe that was my truck throwing a lot of noise on that channel. Did it sound like an outboard from a boat? If it did than that was me.
