I saw something like this posted on a different site and figured there's a lot of knowlege and talent right here with all you guys and gals that can be shared, so have at it. I'll start with some.

1.small carabiners work well on the seat pulls for extra grip when moving seats foward on TJ's
2.micro mag lights hung at the base of each sunvisor with a mini clip make nice ghetto dome/map lights
3.tired of looking at your shifters 5sp pattern take it out and replace with beer bottle cap of choice such as oh Spaten!
4.Everyone knows this one. flip your rear view mirror to see over that big spare out back

Here's what I got.....
-----------------------------Use caribeener for zipping windows and rear on soft tops, great when fingers are cold,

-----------------------------Amommo boxes make great storage behind rear seats.....I can get these every now and then, inquire by pm

Maybe a better solution would be use the pull strings that come on backpacks, I did that on my old top and they would tuck nicely under the top when teh velcro was pressed down and didn't make any noise and cheap!

To get rid of the annoying yellow AirBag sticker on the sun visor.  They just pull the entire visor off and switch sides.  Then you only see it when the visor is down.

To avoid paint wear through on the Doors from the door pin, use a small piece of velcro that has the soft hairs.  Small, sticky, and takes forever to wear through...

Will think of more...

Use a piece of velcro strap to strap the rear seat belts (TJs) to the roll bar, this prevents the rear belts slapping around in the wind.

If you wheel the vehicle, buy cheap steel black rims, your rims will surely rub rocks and bend, so why not just spend 30 dollars a peice rather than 200 a peice and buy a new one?

If you have a roller fairlead on your winch, you can use D size maglite holders to mount your plate to and then the maglite part fits right over the fairlead.

There are tons more.. i let others fill some in.

Got three more.

1.Grip tape/skateboard tape on your door sills. Protects and keeps ya from taking a digger
2. If ya run mud w/no top a marine cover for your radio keeps the kaka out of the c/d player
3. Masterflow air compessor from Pep Boys $60. works pretty good for tire fill ups

I think we all know this one.    (as we're all lined up'd airing up)

I had to fix my Chincom compressor the 2nd time I used it. The leg of the fuse melted, melting the connection to the wire. Yet the fuse did not blow. :grinyes: :grinyes: Fuses are over-rated, just spliced it back together.

Same happened to mine the first time i used it to fill up four tires. I cut the fuse out for now, and works like a charm

Mine hasn't melted anything yet but for a little compressor they sure do get hot

sorry for the hijack - for the Master Flow compressor (cheap OBA)
- get rid of the original 16g leader cable and fuse = too much resistance.  Cheap alternative is a 10g Wallmart jumper cable
-wire in a simple 12V pancake fan (  http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102823&cp=&kw=fan&parentPage=search)

With the aforementioned upgrades - I've aired up 6-8 '33's consistently for the last 3 trail runs.  The 2 gallon air tank I run is only an advantage to for the fill-up of the 1st tire.  This compressor ran continuous after the 1st tire to the last at MaBell and Coy.

Other Wrangler tips:

An old dog collar works good on hard doors when the original door stop straps snap
JB weld works great on stopping a gas tank leak
YJ's (and CJ's) with less than 5" lift needs NO drop pitman arm (TJ's with 3.5+ NEED one)
YJ rear track bar has no use at all
18mm deep socket is not included in most tool sets- but is MANDATORY if you have a YJ, TJ, or XJ

Frank, TJs do not need one as well untill 6 inches or so, TJ kits don't even come with them anymore...

My Teraflex kit did.  On a TJ you need on with any lift over 3 inches.  The front end geometry will be out of wack without it.

NO YOU DON'T!  I have had two TJs, both with over 5 inches and never used one... check other forums and such they always say to stay away due to making your steering geometry screwed up. The two bars (draglink and track bar)that are right there should be parallel to each other.

as you can see the general consensus and experience is that the DPA actually is worse on something with less than 6 inches or so... It is a case by case matter, but more than likely don't use it.

whats the 18mm deep used for?
many of the chassis bolts on a '87 and newer YJ, XY, TJ, WJ, ZJ, KS, etc...

Hmm  I have one, but have yet to find a use for it on my YJ.  And I have torn it completely apart.

but then again i have one of those 87's

best freebie.....sawzall....solves not only clearance issues but tire problems also.  free lift/ground clearance/altitude/attitude.

TRIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!  oh yea for freebie's weld diffs.    free locker.  no road benifits, but off-road works great.
