Cheap front recovery?

Anybody got any suggestions on a cheap but temporary way of setting up a tow hook on the front of an XJ?  Would like to try the XJ on the next trail ride.  Blew all of my cash on Upper and Lower control arms this week.

Try and find a front fact skid w/ hooks off the front of an mj.  Check out donnys rig, thats what he did.  Little fabbing involved I think though.  Bull.

as soon as i put  my winch on  ill have a set of  C4x4 tow hook brackets with d ring mounts should be available in the next week or two

I have the MJ hooks Bull was talking about.  $20 and they're yours.  If your XJ is pre 97, the only fabbing involved is taking a hammer to the tabs Detour welded on.  If it's post 97 the fabbing is already done.

Do I still need a Skid?  How do they hook up?  It's a 95.

Any Pics?  How do these mount?

http://www.custom4x4fabrication.com/recovery.html              they also have a bracket for the d ring mount

@kakirubi  - It looks like there are a couple of options here. If the one you don't take is available, I'm interested. :grinyes:

Don't need a skid plate.  Velcro. :disagree: :disagree:  Just kidding. Use the steering box bolts for the driver side and I think just throughbolt the pass side.  Very easy installation.  You will just need to bang off the tabs Detour welded on.  Or, if it's definate, I'll do it for an extra $0.03 a side.

Kakirubi, are you all set here?

Donny, massxj, If Kakirubi is all set, I would be intersted in either the tow hooks and brackets from massxj or the Mj skid from Donny, whichever is left.

Let me know guys. Thanks.

I'll throw one in just for the Hell of it  :mad02:    :rotflmao:

But if Kakirubi doesn't want them, I'll take them. Trying really hard to not be a WTB Thread Sniper

Bruce, I brought the hooks with me on the trail ride last weekend.  I thought you were coming.  I had all that extra weight with me.  That's why I got stuck!!!
