Especially if you have hard poly bushings.  Being the OEM mounts are barely welded to the axle, it is always a good idea to re-weld or gusset/plate.

The reason harder POLY bushings are more troublesome is because the forward jarring motion will not give any play, so every time you hit a bump it pushes off them with no give.

Every time I pull one of the stock mounts off of the frame, it gets replaced with a 3/16" plate fabricated mount, got tired of trying to beat the stock ones back into shape.
 
That's not a frame mount, that's the mount on the axle.  I need to reinforce that before I put my newer axle on my cherokee.
