WhooHooo! Started the body work on the cj yesterday. =D> Driver side bondo...done and primed. Bling-bling nerf is now black and my diamond plate rocker is now black. Took the flares off and had the kids wash um and Armourall um. Hope it stops raining...need to put it back together and do the other side. Pass side is a piece of cake, only two small bondo patches to do.
Think I'm going to have a local shop just shoot it instead of me fawking around with it.
My wifes dream coming true...The jeep is almost one color :smt041

You still need rear corner gaurds? Think I'm goin "new"........
Take it to Maaco in Middletown.

Wadda ya mean bro? You getting rid of a pair? I'll probably go to Atwoods in Deep River. Close to home. Drop off the jeep ride my bike home.

I'll be call'in ya.
Going to paint it some kind of Maroon. That's what wifey wants thats what wifey gets. Personally I think orange rocks too...and camo...and tiger stripe...and zebra...

Chevy makes a nice maroon type color for their 90's S-10's. It's called dark cherry metallic. In the bright sunlight it's a bright red, and overcast days, it's a deep maroon. Paint code WA9088. A little pricey, but then again, anything with red pigment is expensive. I had my 86 chevy choptop custom painted that color and it looked great. Check it out, it would look great on your rig.

ya reds pricey!
paint it a nice soft color like mine. that way you dont stand out in a crowd

I can get a case of saftey orange ground marking paint pretty cheap at Home Cheapo.

Ron's nephew Will painted his jeep that color. Looks good on a CJ.

Remember satin gloss and a wagner power painter. Looks great and it's available at any home depot. With a sponge it can be textured too. Don't like the color - change it. Only about $30.

nice to hear the paint on the cj Karl. Ive decided to paint my TJ Kawasaki lime green w/ black tiger stripes so I can be different. Love that kawi green...mmmmm. Bull.

OK, the CJs new color is going to be Canary Yellow! ...with black trim.
It's going to be a bumble bee. I took Ron's advice and went with a nice soft color.
Just got to find a shop to shoot it. Don't think it will be ready for Paragon though.

What should I do for prep? Would steel wool and water work? That might leave a little steel behind that could rust. Guess I answered my own question. I'm not looking for a show room finish, but I would like the paint to stay on for a couple of years. Guess I'll wet sand.

...and I'm trying to convince the wife that flames would be way cool. Just some small ones along the hood. One of the guys that works for me is a hot-rodder/gearhead. He's a good artist and does some nice flames. Next time you see Julie tell her how COOL flames would be.
