Question:
I have installed a cold air intake on a 2004 wrangler. The intake was
manufactured by mopar for jeep.
I have recently noticed a high pitched sound (similar to sqeaky breaks)
at around 2000 rpm under a load (going up a hill). Is this to be expected
as a result of the larger volume of air being taken in ?

Hey jemmac, welcome to NEJeep! :D

I'm not too familiar with the Mopar intake, but I'm sure it's similar to the
Rock-it air tube and filter I'm using. I also have the poweraid spacer, and the two combined make a loud "screeching turbo" sound at part throttle.

You'll get used to it soon enough.

Mine does the same. it is the angle of the throttle body opening up and the larger volume of air entering the intake. its normal sounds like a blower spooling up under load and after 2k rpm.

Friend of mine has an 04' Super Duty 6.0L Very similar setup. Has a chip too. Punch the throttle and it sounds like someone turned on a vacuum cleaner under the hood. Tis' the sound of POWER.
