D30 carrier questions

I have a dana 30 detriot locker from an early 70s CJ5, i was curious if i could take out my carrier and such and bolt it into a TJ dana 30??? Will the axles slide into it and work?

Also, what gear ratio does the carrier size change? ex: 373-->307-->...and higher are the smaller carrier and 4.10-->4.88-->...are lower are the bigger carrier??

I think the carrier changes at 3.55 and up

The carriers are the same from old cj, right up to new xj hi-pinion. They will work in any dana 30.
The carrier break is at 3.73 and up, 3.55 and lower.

Low pinion must be installed in another....low pinion. :wink:

Not so my friend....carrier is a carrier...it's the gears that differ.
