Ok so I have a chance to get stuff of a zj real cheap and was wondering...if it has rear disc should I just get the rear too for all the brake parts?  It is a v8 model and I dont know if its a alum d44 or the 35.  If anything and I cant use them someone else prob could right?  Id just sell the stuff for what I pull it for unless I can use it.  I know I got a 35 but hey if its dirt cheap why not get better rears.....plus I could re use if I get a 44???  Any quick help would be appreciated.  Bull.

I do believe the disk brake stuff from the 35 WILL bolt up to a 44.

If you do not end up using the brakes, I'll take 'em.  I've been wanting to convert to disk in the rear.

I dont have a 44 yet but I would do my 35 for now.  Ill have to see, but I will prob get them if it is rear disc.

Yeah from what I've seen so far, the 35 brakes will bolt up on the 44

So if you upgrade your 35 now, you should be able to use it when you go to 44.

*I'f I'm wrong someone correct me, cuz that's what I've read on the mis-information super highway*

I only have the dana 30 formula.   It's new.

I beleive 96 and up V8 ZJs got the AL44.  The disks off a ZJ D35 will work on a drum D35.  Just swap the backing plates and stuff. The e-brake cable should work fine with no mods.  I have heard of people using the ZJ disks on a D44, there may be some modifications required.  The guy I sold my old disk stuff to was going to use them on an XJ 44.  Just make sure if you go to rear disks to use the ZJ proportioning valve, the stock rear drum setup has a checkball to keep the drum shoes close to the drum, and that would effectively cause your rear pads to drag on the rotor, not a good thing.  FYI, no Iron D44s were ever available on ZJs in the states. In some other countries they are iron.  HTH
