Anybody know if a set of 8 lug discs are an easy change over onto a set of 6 lug 1/2 ton axles from a full size chevy? I am thinking it would be cheaper to do that than to try to make a full folat 14 bolt a 6 bolt pattern.Any ideas?

Trying to find out the best way to match up wheel bolt patterns on a mixed set of axles.Got a 14 bolt rear 8 lug and/or a 10.25 ford rear, would like to find a way to change the 6 bolt front on a dana 44 out of a 1/2 ton blazer to 8 lug so I don't have to have 2 different types of rims. The 3/4 ton front that matches the 14 bolt has drum brakes, and I don't think that it is worth the effort to find all needed parts to do that swap.I don't know if that helps, but that is all I can come up with. Thanks

Just something to think about.

I was driving home from vacation today through New Mexico and rolled the Jeep. I am perfectly fine with no bruises or scratches but the Rubi is not. The rear driver side wheel spacer broke and the wheel came off. Snap the lugs right of the axle. I always make sure my spacers are on tight. Felt nothing odd driving until it happened. Was only going around 40 mph when it happened. Flipped once and landed back on the wheels. Glad I put the rockhard cage in. As of now that was the best investment I have made. Cages serve one function and I just tested it. I will know Tuesday whether or not it is totaled

wish the pictures were still there... these were not spyder trax.. but any brand could do that, kinda scary.

Do your research as there are two types of wheel spacers, some vehicles are better off with Hubcentric wheel spacers that center on teh hub (like jeeps)

It may take swapping out most of the parts on the outer knuckle. Spindle, hub, bearings, brakes and brackets.
Can you measure the diameter of the rotor to start with? If you can get this measurement, I can compare your 6 lug rotors diameter, to my 8 lug rotors.
I may have most of the parts here that you will need to convert an older Chevy D44 to 3/4 ton 8 bolt duty.

The 6 lug and 8 lug chevy 10 bolt front rotors are a direct swap with each other. I think you also have to swap calipers (I can't remember for sure), but if I remember correctly, even the caliper brackets are the same.

HTH,
Bob

EDIT: The Chevy D44 stuff also swaps over...6 lug to 8 lug. I believe it's also the same from D44 to 10 bolt.

I'd edit my post, but it seams we're not allowed to do that

Scott, If Bob is correct in his info, I have a set of mid 70's Chevy D44 8 lug hubs with old rotors here. I'll have to dig them out. New rotors are cheap for this application. I also have a set of matching caliper brackets and spindles.
New calipers are always a good idea, there should be an old set kicking around here that you can use as cores.

Thank's don't really like adapters, plus they need to be 2 piece and end up between 1.5 and 2.5 inches wide per side. Mark, let me see if I get this stuff pulled apart this week and I'll get back to you.I may only need a set of hubs/rotors,the brake stuff looks pretty good.

I just found this link to a good write up for what you are looking to do.

I still haven't made the time to look for the parts around here yet, but should have most of them to do this.

Thanks mark, that about makes it easy to have everthing ready when the time comes.I dragged out the axels today and hope to decide which rear to use in a day or two.Don't get to wound up about looking for parts just yet, there is a chance[very slight]that I may use the 12 bolt that was there also,it is set up with 6 lug so it would mate up with the front.
