It does have a clutch fan, and it appears tight... just the way I like it  ...
Pump is new, hoses are new, radiator is new 3 core...
So far, I have completely clean oil, no white smoke. Exhaust does not smell of the freeze... and I do not hear or see any boiling over past the cap at regular temp...
My problem was this weekend, I plugged the radiator so solid, that you could not see it even had fins. Drove off the trail, over heated it for only a few min, but it was pegged. Cooled, refilled and then Pressure washed it out at the car wash, and thought it looked like it was ok... could not get all areas being the power steering cooler is in the way, and the winch. So, we headed back to the camp site and it got hot again. About 230 and then I put the hot air on and it dropped to the norm (210)
Next morning, pulled the thermo, headed home to CT... on the way it got hot again and climbed to about 220. I had to keep the heat on and that kept it at about 220 all the way home.
Since then, still no other problems with oil or anything. Tonight I started hosing crap down, and there is still a ton of mud in the radiator,,, going to take it out and really clean....
I posted the question only because I am really paranoid, and have not had the time to go through all the steps to be sure it is not just the radiator....
I have a cylinder compression tester... so I will check that anyway...
And we will see what happens after the rad is cleaned, and a new thermo is put in... hopefully I escaped any damage, but with my luck, I probably cracked a head
Ron, if I get it all back together on Sat, I may need to try the coolant pressure tester, to see how high it is building...
thanks everyone, did not mean to freak everyone out, but it has me very worried, especially with the big events coming up...
