Probably should have put this here insted of the general SORRY....

Hope everyone had a great holiday. I'm going to get some extended steel braided brake lines today so when i put the 4.5" lift on this weekend its ready to drive. Anyone have a preference of what to use?
Rusty's has some for like $100.00 and i found a set on ebay for like $85.00

Let me know?

Thanks

I think YJ ones are a bit longer and are identical otherwise.  Have the parts guy pull both and compare them.

I have a 4.5 lift and the only thing I ever did was make a little sheet metal bracket to hold the 6" s shaped section of line and brake union fitting.

The s shaped section is just a 6" piece of standard pre-flared brake line.  Bent into a tight s shape so when a union is used to connect it to the existing brake line.  the new end is about 1-1/2 ~2" lower.

I've used it for over 5 years without issue.  I did it because I didn't know about the yj line.

Use the yj line it's easier and quicker.  Only need another ~2" or so.

So i called the jeep dealer to try to get the yj lines..No dice. Some of the YJ years are the same part numbers as 93 Xj I have and the only other YJ's there part numbers are discontinued. So if anyone has and additional info on what year yj lines work or a Jeep part number let me know...
Thanks

Beaker if you get a chance give me a call i'd like to pick your brain abit more on teh way you moved the lines.
I'll pm you my number.

Depending on the condition of your hard lines, you may be able to bend them a bit and get yourself an inch or more down the unibody.  just drill a new hole or use a self tapper.  As far as the back lines you can fab up a new bracket and move the lines down.

I bought my lines from these guys. Top notch quality for a good price.

I specified what lengths and ends I wanted. They custom made them, and sent them right out within a couple of days.

I'll be working in the garage later tonight. I'll check to see if I still have the ss braided line set from my jeep before the new axles went in. I'll let ya know if I find em.

BTW, I removed the other thread in the general section so this one gets the full attention.

Yeah let me know if you find those lines and what you want for them.

Just back from XJ marks and got the stuff i needed. MAN Mark your rig is NASTY. Thanks again for the parts, the awesome price and the advice. I look forward to meeting the rest of the crew at the meet and great and joining the club to go beat up on the jeep.
