Looking into putting either an Aussie or lockright in my TJ's front D30.
If I have to pop into 4HI during bad weather (highway) how bad will it really handle? Is it liveable through the winter or a complete nightmare?

Full time locker in the front and Snow do not mix well. The front end will want to push.

I have a lockrite in the rear and it's quirky on pavement. If it was in the front - I assume it would cause some plowing and scrub even in 2WD? In 4WD Lo on trails you wouldn't be able to turn as tightly. I had a Rubi in front of me on the trail last weekend who forgot to unlock his front and was doing 3pt turns on right hand turns

In my opinion if the weather is bad enough to require 4wd on the road, You should not be doing highway speeds.

I was able to drive my jeep in 2 wheel drive (open) during the storm we go 27" in a few years ago. this was up my grandparents unplowed driveway to check on them.

otherwise, just unlock a hub

I just don't think that it should be a worry.

and the hub comment was me just being a PITA. Who needs a selctable locker when you have hubs?
