So I have coolant in my oil, and oil on my coolant, and low oil pressure.

I'm pretty sure that means a head gasket.

Never done one.

The only free day I have is Sunday, so I have to decide to try it and hope it only takes me one day, or get it done somewhere and go the the jeep rally instead.

How hard is a head gasket on a 4cyl TJ?

Dealer says $640 + tax and they can do it this week.

So do I take it in and get it done quick & (hopefully) painless?

Or do I try and do it myself this weekend?

do a bunch of research on line for instructions about other cars/trucks, like general research. look for a haynes manual, although not the greatest it will tell u how to do it.

I've only got one day free for like the next month and thats not enough time to try to learn something like this. The dealer can have it done by wednesday morning so I'm gonna go with that.

It also is a good idea to have the head taken to a machine shop and decked to ensure the head is flat.

It's most likely a head gasket but there is no guarantee that it is the problem. A cracked block or head could also cause the same thing. With the head off, you'll be able to see if the gasket is blown out, if not get the head pressure tested. Block too if you can swing it.

If you have been driving on it for a while, you may need new bearings in the bottom end. Coolant is a lousy lube.

Do not drive it in this condition.
