Help Please,, Around the world to the left

Driving home I put my left turn signal on, took my left turn, the stalk clicked off but my signal light remained on.  After about 5 minutes an annoying buzzer goes off, I'm assuming its an idiot alarm saying 'hey,, your signal has been on too long' The alarm is easily turned off by clicking the signal stalk to the right.
BYW, right signal and hazards work fine,, right along with the left one,,, all at once..

It was a fun ride through East Hardford.

So,, we've tried taking out the fuse, unplugging the battery, attempting to reset the very confused computer,,
Any ideas what else to try?  Im thing this may end up a very expensive trip to the dealer.

My best guess would be the stitch itself....  the switch is in the column, and I guess the computer would not really know what way you are turning unless the switch is activated.  So that would be my guess.....

Holly, you need to not wear it out the stalk by headlight flashing the slow old people on the road.  :grinyes:

Hey Holly, its really easy to fix.  I have an 8 pound sledge hammer at home! :grinyes:

Just use it on anybody that complains about your signal! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Buy a new stock, i bought one for my 97tj and it was about 30 dollars or so. They are easy to replace, no worries about the airbag, and a simple philips screw driver to do the job.

I already tried that, still,,,, it blinks on.......................................................
I'm thinking of contacting a priest.

Maybe it's haunted - may need an exorcism  :popez:

I had something similiar happen in my TJ.  I would turn the left signal on and it would stay on,  it wouldn't flash.
I just replaced the stock and seem to do the trick.

that buzzing u hear could be the blinker relay.  my blinker would go nuts till i changed that.  it may be under the dash behind the wheel someware.

Do you have enough blinker fluid in there :rotflmao: sorry, somebody had to :rotflmao:

I have the same problem on occasion.  I have determined that it is just from not fully engaging the turn signal.  Scared the crap out of me when it first happend.  I was driving my friend's 2001 XJ and the same thing happened.  I considered it to be a normal condition if you don't fully engage the turn signal.  F.I.W.I.
