Herculinere - 1st coat look sketchy

In a heated garage - the coverage against the red tub of the YJ after the first coat looks sketchy..... should I just plan on more than 2 coats? I put the fist on thin as instructed and it looks rough...... anyway it is tacky now and in a little while I will add coat # 2 - just wondering if poor coverage against the red was considered normal.

Any thoughts

I used the spray in stuff the other day on mine and it worked out great.It was dry in about 20mins .Just lay the next coat on thick,should cover fine.

I did the same thing... I used a gallon...I was able to put like 4-5 coats...
came out great...

herc usually looks rough

has to do with the beads in it

Plan on at least 2 coats, Areas than will see heavy use will need more - like in the footwells under the gas/brake peddles

OK - I blame the instructions (and I am sticking to my story ) - they called for a thin first coat, and and after I rolled on the thin coat the coverage was very very poor.... (I said rough earlier meaning poor shape - not refering to the texture)...

Went for the second coat and put on a nice thicker coat and this AM it looks great.. just some touch up spots, and a final coat for the heavy "traffic" areas - and with the extra qrt I have there may be enough to do the dog :wink: - I love this stuff!
